The CICECO researchers were invited to showcase the UniRCell project at the International Materials Symposium | Conference of Sociedade Portuguesa dos Materiais - Materiais 2017, held in Aveiro from 9-12 April.
Besides presenting the project activities, the team has set up a small demonstrating Unitised Reversible Fuel Cell able to produce hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis using electricity generated by a small photovoltaic panel or a small wind turbine, and, on a fully reversible manner, is also able to work as a fuel cell producing electrical power from the stored gases.
The initiative was a success, generating numerous interesting discussions with researchers from other areas.
